2003-2008 Capital Campaign Review

Trillium Health Centre Foundation is both privileged and proud to be fundraising for a world class health centre.  Trillium delivers nothing less than the best health care – the kind that restores wellness, enhances quality of life and gives patients the promise of a future.
 
The capital campaign, begun in 2003, raised $36 million, six million over its goal!  This resulted in an epic expansion and renovation – a renaissance inside and out that redefines the notion of ‘hospital’.  Trillium Health Centre now boasts some of the finest facilities in Canada, including our new West Wing – a showcase of innovation and patient-centred design.
 
In late 2007, the 18-month, Cardiac Challenge launched with a $15 million goal to enhance our cardiac services.  Now named the Hazel McCallion Centre for Heart Health, this regional, advanced cardiac care program takes on the high profile it so deserves.  Our “I Heart Hazel” campaign, culminating in spring 2009, is raising awareness and support across Halton and Peel regions for one of the best cardiac programs in the country.

Community support of foundation events played a significant role in our success supporting several major programs including oncology, cardiac and orthopaedic services.

Vanguard projects across both locations have been funded through generous gifts.  Partners, sponsors and donors from every walk of life helped us achieve every milestone and every goal.  These include opening the new Betty Wallace Womens Health Centre, Betty & Buster Lockwood Cancer Detection and Treatment Centre, Kingsway Financial Spine Centre, Urgent Care Centre, Ploder Endovasuclar Suite, Cath Lab, Cardiovascular Operating Room, Ultrasound Clinic, Fracture Clinic, MRI Suite and the Harold and June Shipp Stroke Centre.

The Foundation is deeply grateful to members of the Capital Campaign Cabinet, the Leadership Gifts Committee and President’s Circle donors.  Their generous investments make Trillium a Canadian health care landmark and made it possible to achieve our campaign goals on time and on budget.  Trillium Health Centre board of director members, hospital leaders and Foundation board members are also sincerely thanked for their enthusiasm and dedication to transforming the health care experience.

Many of the Health Centre’s leading physicians and clinical managers have stepped up and made personal donations to further improve specific programs and projects.  The Foundation greatly appreciates these generous individuals, not only for their financial support, but for helping us build bridges with former patients who may wish to contribute out of gratitude.
